A Mixed Herd

We had just moved to the area and needed a place to board our five horses
(1 Draft, 3 Arabians and 1Buckskin).  We take our horses care very seriously and are extremely particular about their care and living conditions.

We approached our vet for a recommendation and he said, “Nobody is better than Tracey and RT Arrow Ranch”. 

After meeting Tracey and seeing the facility at RT Arrow Ranch we certainly agreed.  The grounds, barn, stalls and arena are immaculate and well maintained.  Horses are well taken care of and turned out everyday.

Tracey adheres to strict standards for treatments, as well as being very knowledgeable and successful with her breeding program.

Dar’s Transition

After owning our own ranch in southern Arizona for over 35 years we recently moved to the Sedona area.  When our move became finalized our Daughter-in-law researched nearby ranches that would board the two horses we brought with us.  She located RT Arrow Ranch.

Shortly after we moved our two horses, our old gelding passed away.
Dar, our remaining 23 year old mare went into a heartbreaking mourning and separation anxiety for her old friend of over 16 years. 

Tracey and Roberta (RT Arrow Ranch owners) set about to assist in Dar’s grieving.  “I really don’t know if Dar would have made it without Tracey…..in fact, the vast knowledge these two people brought to the situation makes me call them “the horse whisperers”.”

The facility is immaculate and horses are treated well by all the staff.  Tracey is present to maintain a positive management of her staff to insure the best care and attention to all the horses at RT Arrow Ranch.

“During the heat of summer I find it difficult to ride Dar regularly to exercise her and keep her fit.  This is where the wonderful aqua tread program fits in for me.  This program uses water therapy with the aqua treadmill to keep a horse in great physical condition.  Just look at my Dar, she not only looks great she feels great too.  Hey, I should mention that she really enjoys the daily water workout.”

 

Rio

Rio is a 7 yr old Arab and the 2009 Endurance Racing National Champion. 

During round pen exercising he pulled a groin muscle.  Rio is an active horse that hated being stall bound by his injury and he was gaining weight.  I decided to see if aqua treading would help and went to RT Arrow Ranch.  I was really impressed.  The facility was immaculate. They also had a great feeding program.

Rio was nervous the first time going into the pool to tread but Tracey took her time and eased him into a treading routine.  The result was wonderful.  The aqua treading buoyed the weight off his legs and allowed him to exercise with a natural gait while he continued to heal.  Rio became very sound again and lost the weight he had gained while standing after his injury and was able to get his energy out through daily exercise.

Rio was at RT Arrow Ranch for 3 months and I felt very comfortable leaving him with Tracey and her staff.   

 

Dougie

As everyone knows, training for any discipline is intense for the horse.  Injuries happen and they not only slow down training but can set your horse back for months.  So when our Quarter horse, Dougie, sustained a soft tissue injury while in reining training we looked for the best rehabilitation option possible.

Dougie is a futurity horse and we didn’t want to have him stall bound but at the same time needed to be sure to eliminate any further injury or damage. 

We heard about RT Arrow Ranch through the reining industry and visited the ranch for a tour and evaluation of their aqua treading facility and rehabilitation program.  “Wow!!  What a beautiful place, VERY clean, well organized, and very friendly owner and staff.  They take the time to get to know you and your horse and talk about the program and goals.”

We placed Dougie at the ranch for rehabilitation.  When we would visit, everyone was very friendly and the owner, Tracey, always took the time to talk and answer all our questions.  The staff was experienced, knowledgeable and took excellent care of Dougie. 

The results were EXCELLENT!  The aqua tread provided a low impact program that allowed his injury to heal quickly and kept Dougie in great physical condition.

RT Arrow Ranch is an OUTSTANDING facility and we highly recommend their program for any horse in any discipline.  The aqua tread is perfect, whether it is for injury rehabilitation or for conditioning to lose weight, stay in shape, or develop strength for more effective training results.

 

Skippy’s New Life

Greetings to Tracey, Roberta and all of the RT Arrow Ranch crew…

As you know, Lyn and I are fairly new to horse ownership.  When we purchased our AQHA quarter horses, Skippy and Diaz, we knew we wanted to show in Western Pleasure type classes.  But we were not sure where to start.

As fate would have it Skippy, our 24 year old, casted himself in his stall.  As our vet was taking  x-rays of his leg and hock injury, we started talking about what would be the best rehab program, especially since he was 24 years old.  He suggested a low impact exercise and recommended the aqua treadmill.  We researched our options and after viewing the facilities and talking with the owners of the RT Arrow Ranch, we knew this was the path to go.  It is a controlled indoor environment with hydro therapy jets and the ability to control the treadmill speed.  What more could one expect?  It was perfect for a horse’s rehab.

Skippy aqua treaded for about one month.  We could not believe the results.  The swelling was gone and his body condition was unbelievable for a 24 year old horse.  While we were at RT Arrow Ranch, Tracey went out of her way to teach Lyn and myself proper grooming techniques (“show ready” as Tracey would say).  The result for Lyn’s first show on Skippy was Novice Reserve Champion.

The conditioning results for Skippy were so dramatic that we sent our 2 year old, Diaz, to RT Arrow Ranch for physical conditioning as he was getting old enough to go to a professional trainer.  Once again the results of aqua treading were so dramatic that our trainer was able to ride him on day 1 of training.

With all that being said, thank you Tracey, Roberta and all the RT Arrow Ranch staff for your courteous and professional services.  We highly recommend RT Arrow Ranch to all our friends and neighbors for any injury that requires rehabilitation and/or general conditioning.  You and your staff really know what they are doing.
